Sorry to get back on topic but I recently ordered a complete us loadout from sof and it took over a week and a half to arrive. I phoned them up to ask about the order and they said it was due to the helmet I ordered requirng conveting. I don't really mind as I don't need the kit for a while, the only thing I don't understand is how everyone allways seams to slate sof for being the most expensive. I did a little tesco/asda syle price comparison for a basic us loadout between sof and epic militaria and as you can see sof is considerably cheaper at the moment.
ok so it may take a little while longer to arrive but thats quite a saving you have to agree.

Some things are loads cheaper.
E.g german inf assault badge is £6 from them and over £10 elsewhere...
However...
Equally an RAC helmet from Sabre is £15 and it was £65 from Sof
The point is not 'never use sof' its 'dont blindly buy all your stuff from one stockist' - shop around.

My issue isn't pricing, it's quality. I've never bought anything from them because when I've checked it out at a stall it's just been a bit....thin.

well it does amuse me that you get complaints when deliveries take a week or so ...coming from a Medieval and Napoleonic living history background we'd sometimes have to wait a year for some bits and pieces.

Its because i told them to put up a notice about the delays. I thought it was unfair that if you needed the item for an event, and ordered it in good time. That potential customers should be notified of delays..

Landsers had to sew most the buttons on their uniforms after they were issued as they fell off easily from the facory/stores.

They seem to have got there act together now. I ordered stuff on Saturday as next day delivery, and they arrived today.
Yes, I placed an order on the 4th and it arrived this morning (11th) by 48hr carrier - no complaints there. Looks like they have sorted the warehouse/despatch problems (for the moment anyway).
